As a Colorado native, I have always been an advocate for the best interests of our local community. I have lived and worked in Mesa County over the span of 24 years. I currently work as a Journeyman Electrician at a locally owned business and am a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in local union number 111. I am certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, which allows me to install solar systems on residential and commercial buildings and is an avenue to facilitate my passion for renewable energy sources.
I have always sought information from as many sources as possible to establish a well-informed choice. I believe that both sides of the political spectrum have insight to promote optimal outcomes for our prosperity here in Mesa County. My interest in local government began at an early age, as I watched my father act as a Montrose County Health Inspector for 36 years. Under his guidance, I registered originally as a Republican and was an active voter for nearly a decade.
Throughout that time, I graduated from Montrose High School and then completed the Mesa State Electrical Lineman Program, which acted as a springboard for my professional career as an electrician and solar installer. I have experienced both ends of the political spectrum in my lifetime, agreeing and disagreeing with various policies from both throughout. In 2007 I found the Democratic platform aligned more closely to my personal ideals and as such changed my registration. That year I actively participated in the Democratic State Convention as a Mesa County delegate. I found the experience humbling and was honored to serve my local community; I knew this would not be the end of my political endeavors.
Thank you in advance to all active voters! I anticipate success as District Two County Commissioner for Mesa County. I look forward to working with a network of individuals and businesses with various political preferences and opinions that will help guide the Pink campaign. I hope to serve Mesa County to the best of my abilities.
